Reef Encounter is basically a high quality hotel stationed out on the reef. She is the only vessel open to the public operated out of Cairns to sport a Helicopter Pad and Jacuzzi. Privately arranged helicopter transfers for those who don't wish to spend their time on the high speed transfer boat can be arranged. This quality operation also operates a Glass Bottom Boat that provides guests with complimentary tours of the reef during their stay.
The size of the vessel and spacious sea view cabins as well as the spacious communal areas make it a great choice for families or those going with non divers. Other activities (such as the Glass Bottom Boat Tours) further the experience considerably for those who don't wish to dive. In summary it is akin to flying First Class: A Champagne Welcome, Private Under The Stars Dining, Continental or Cooked Breakfast served in your Suite and your own personal Dive Guide and Valet for the duration of your stay. Each evening you receive complimentary cocktails and a deluxe 3 course evening meal. Your cabin is serviced twice daily and towels and toiletries replenished. Of course you have the choice of the best cabins on-board, use of your cabin until the moment of departure (no early checkout) and a private area in the transfer vessel.
