At 36m long and accomodating 20 guests the MY Duke Of York is a spacious luxurious vessel. All cabins are spacious, nicely fitted and en-suite with individual air conditioning. 3 cabins are situated on the two higher decks and have large sea view windows. The remainder are on the lower deck. All the beds are low and there are no bunk beds. A 3G Wi-Fi connection is available for a fee. Each cabin has a Maldivian Sim card for use.
On the aft part of the first deck there is a spacious outdoor dining area furnished with table and chairs made of quality wood that can easily accommodate 21 guests. The dining area is shaded and can be covered to allow outdoor dining even in poorer weather. All meals are prepared fresh by qualified chefs and the cusine is usually Italian or Maldavian style served as a buffet. The chef uses a lot of fresh fish but the menu can be changed to meet guests special requirements if required.
A large air conditioned indoor lounge has a well stocked bar and comfortable lounge seating to relax with a drink or watch a DVD, listen to music or read a book. On special occasions it can become a party / disco area as it has a powerful enough surround sound system! There is also a recharging area for camera and torch batteries etc with 220v electricity.
Spread over the 3 decks are various covered and open outdoor seating areas with loungers, seating, and bean bags etc. These are perfect for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade taking in the superb deserted island scenery.
Your diving is done from a traditional Maldivian Dhoni boat that accompanies the Duke Of York. This is amply equipped with 3 compressors and a NITROX system. Rebreathers are also catered for. The crew are top class and comprises at least 9 or 10 members plus 2 coaches. All are either European or Italian mother tongue, and there are also 1 or 2 very experienced Maldivian dive guides. Massages and spa treatments are available also from a qualified Masseur.
