MV Andaman has been operating since 1997 and is a firm favourite with both new and returning divers. She offers a very affordable informal friendly way of diving the Similan Islands. She has three different cabins styles, all air conditioned with storage and sea view, which suit all budgets. Two En-suite doubles, Two standard doubles and two six share cabins (bunk beds with curtains). The dive deck offers maximum space and flexibility and the three toilet/showers are large and feature hot water showers.
The dining deck offers spacious dining on two tables, cushioned seating and is used for the three buffet style informal meals per day that help generate the friendly relaxed atmosphere on this boat. Between meals there are free snacks, fruit, cookies, tea, coffee and water. There is also a selection of fish identification books and magazines to further your marine identification skills.
The sundeck runs the whole length of the boat offering sunbeds, mattresses and hammocks and has a covered area for the hottest part of the day.
The "Star Deck" is uncovered, offering a spectaculat panoramic view of the night sky – perfect for a late evening drink or early morning coffee. Beanbags can be moved around the low coffee / drink tables on this deck to suit your group size. Alternatively you can relax in a quiet corner and read a book or just enjoy the view.
On the final evening of the 3 day and 4 day trips, rather than a night dive, there are cocktails at sunset and a BBQ dinner on the sun deck. This is usually a lively night for all and on the 7 day trip you get two!
North or South ? The 3 night trips come in two varieties - North or South. The Northern trips focus on Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands. The Southern trips focus on Koh Bon and the Similan Islands. Both options offer spectacular diving and the option to go ashore and visit the beaches. The days run the same on the boat with 4 dives per day independant of destination.

This trip is excellent value and gives you a taste of the best that the Andaman Sea has to offer. Between the excellent diving you also have the option to go ashore and visit the beaches. The Full Monty! The 7 night trip covers Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands as well as Koh Bon and the Similan Islands. It is one of the cheapest full week expeditions offered for this area. The budget is unlikely to stop you but available time or availability might! The expedition is a combination of the 3 and 4 night trip together so you can choose between two options. One is combined with the 3 night north trip so you dive Richelieu, Koh Tachai and Surin more. Alternatively you dive the Similans and Koh Bon more when combined with the 3 night South trip. Either are fantastic and you get to dive all areas. For a friendly informal full length budget trip MV Andaman is difficult to beat. The trip schedules are detailed below.
