Nangnuan accomodates 8 guests on a communal covered sleeping deck. Please note minimum age is 15yrs.
MV Nangnuan was one of the pioneering boats in 1994 to offer liveaboard trips to the Similan Islands. Now over 20 years later she is as popular as ever with travellers and backpackers and those on a budget and remains in excellent condition with a lot of care and attention each season. Remember, whatever the cost of the trip the dive sites at the destinations are the same for all. . .
This is without doubt the cheapest most personal (8 guests and two dive staff) overnight trip you can do to the Similan Islands.
The trip covers the spectacular coral reef bays of the Similans as well as the deeper granite boulder swim-through sites. You also get to dive the vertical walls of Koh Bon where the Mantas often come to play.
In the evening you get complete peace and quiet. With no air conditioning to run there is no generator noise. You get to enjoy the gentle lap of the sea against the boat and can lie back on the deck and enjoy the star spangled sky. If you own a guitar then bring it along. . .
A Budget Trip On A Well Known Boat You begin your trip with check in at the dive centre at around 7:00am followed by a transfer to the pier and an 8:00am departure.
This is a very popular budget trip. Nangnuan is a tremendous character boat and finds a place in the heart of most that dive from her. At such an affordable price many customers return a second and third time.
During the trip you will also be able to visit the different beaches and explore the islands, including the chance to climb to the top of the famous rock formation at Ao Guerk. This offers beautiful views over the bay, perfect for a photograph. You can also usually visit the National Park Headquarters on Koh Miang.
Note that dives are planned to 30m max depth so you must be certified to dive to this depth. If you are not then an option is to take a single Deep Dive Specialty Dive on the trip or your Adventure Diver or Advanced Course. Either will certify you to 30m. This is well worth doing as it expands your diving horizons and enjoyment considerably and costs little.
